Castle of Martinengo

This castle was built by the Martinengo family in the 15th century to defend the bridges and harbours of the River Oglio. It has been altered several times. The family often stayed at the castle. The entrance tower, which still bears the signs of fortified architecture, leads onto the Renaissance era courtyard with its columns engraved with the coats of arms of the Martinengo and Colleoni Families, who were linked by marriage.
