Civic tower

The ancient walls were connected to the mediaeval tower in Via Parigi which dates back to the 12th century and is now known as the Torre Civica. Other important examples of mediaeval construction can be seen in the buildings of Via Scaletta and Vicolo Aie. Here, in one of the most picturesque and well-preserved corners of the entire old town centre stands a porticoed palazzo, once the town hall.
